What is SAP SDM?

SAP Secondary Distribution Management (SDM) is the solution for IS-Oil downstream business processe based on SAP. SDM is also suitable for other liquid bulk goods with few restrictions.

SDM is part of the SAP products SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain for secondary distribution (S4SCSD) and SAP Secondary Distribution for Oil and Gas (OGSD).

SAP SDM includes these applications:

• Tele Sales (TS) with Collective Order (CO)

  • TS: Contains all the functions and information that you need for telephone sales.

  • CO: Enables to create one order for a customer and other customers in his neighborhood.

• Continuous Product Replenishment (CPR)

  • Provides you with a continuous supply of products to end consumer based on their requirements by continuously calculating and monitoring the expected material consumption.

• Data Collation (DC) with Process Orchestration (PO)

  • DC: Enables the automatic or manual confirmation and adjustment of the material and quantities actually delivered. An immediate quantity correction is made on the basis of the planned quantities.

  • PO: Enables the configuration, automated posting, and monitoring of cross-company-code order-to-cash processes in Data Collation.

• Interfaces (IF)

  • Enables the import of data to the SAP system, including their automatic and manual processing in the Interface Monitor.

• Integrated Dispatch Management (S4IDM)

  • Integrated Dispatch Management is a truck dispatch solution for bulk products such as fuel, gas, or other liquids. Dispatchers can view transport requests for their designated dispatch area and then can use various interactive tools to combine transport requests to a trip and assign vehicles and drivers.

S4SCSD: In addition to SAP S/4HANA, some SDM applications require the IS-Oil add-on from SAP.

These are the applications of SDM, that require IS-Oil:

• Tele Sales (TS)

• Continuous Product Replenishment (CPR)

• Data Collation (DC), if you want to use the standard oil quantity conversion

OGSD: In addition to EHP7 for SAP ERP 6.0, OGSD requires the IS-Oil add-on from SAP.
